Michelin-Recognized Restaurants in Phuket You Should Try
23 July 2026

Any self-respecting foodie will know that Phuket has one of the most interesting and tantalizing culinary landscapes found anywhere. While it is possible to find a bad meal, the chances are low, and the average quality is high. Dozens, if not hundreds, of restaurants around the island have amazing food, but the spots mentioned in the Michelin Guide have that little something extra that makes them stand out. At the time of writing, there are 58 Phuket eateries recognized by Michelin, whether they have a proper star, have earned a “bib gourmand”, or are simply highlighted because they are a notch above the rest. Let’s take a look at a choice selection you should try.

Nam Yoi

Naam Yoi

While it’s not particularly bad, you don’t go to Nam Yoi for the ambiance. Visually, it might not stand out from a million other local neighborhood restaurants, but the food is inarguably authentic. This isn’t the bland green curry or phad thai found in Thai restaurants in Western countries; these are the boldest, most complex flavors southern Thai food is known for. Those with weak constitutions should tread lightly; many dishes, especially the curries, are unapologetically spicy. The seafood is fresh, the ingredients are of good quality, and the prices are right. If you appreciate or are curious to try real-deal southern Thai cooking, then this is one of the best choices in Phuket.

Mook Manee

If you have a soft spot for seafood, then you’re going to want to experience this seaside restaurant. Located next to the Rawai Pier in a sea gypsy village, the small alley is lined with stalls selling super-fresh, some still alive, tasty sea creatures of all varieties. Some are caught in the wild the old-fashioned way, and some come from the surrounding aquaculture farm. You can simply order from the restaurant’s menu, but most people like to choose their own seafood from the vendors, and the restaurant will cook it for you at a price per kilo. It can get really busy during high season and may seem like a tourist trap at first glance, but despite their success, many locals dine here because it is consistently delicious.

Restaurant Royd

Restaurant Royd

Restaurant Royd is exactly the mental image many conjure when thinking of a Michelin-recognized restaurant. It’s classy, exclusive, intriguing, and unique. Operating out of a hip 1970’s building on Dibuk Road in the heart of Phuket’s Old Town, there’s a whole backstory to the location. An ideal choice for a special occasion, make a reservation for you and your loved one and put your trust in Chef Mond. The eight-course tasting menu transforms with the seasons, depending on what’s fresh and fitting. It’s a place you should at least visit once to experience and appreciate the creativity and vision of the talented local chef.

Roti Chaofa

You might be wondering why we (or the Michelin Guide) are mentioning a little bustling breakfast roti joint, of which there are plenty strewn about the island. Well, this is THE standout spot for this local favorite. Busy early and every day, you’ll find steaming roti flatbreads a tad crispy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. Fabulously rich curries with chicken, beef, or goat make the perfect dipping companion, while the Thai-style biryani rice is strangely satisfying, topped with fried chicken.
